EP Finance · part of the EP Suite
Your books, on your own site.
EP Finance is a double-entry ledger that lives inside your PageMotor site. Your accounts, your transactions and your reports stay with you, and every night it checks that the whole book still adds up.
The question every owner asks
Do my books add up, and will the figures I filed still say the same thing next month? EP Finance is built around both.
Every entry balances
Every transaction is a group of two or more lines that must balance to exactly zero, or it is refused. Money moving between two of your own accounts is recorded as two matching legs. The same thing cannot post twice: a repeated import or a retried payment is ignored, not duplicated.
Never a penny adrift
Every amount is held as a whole number of pence or cents. Nothing is stored as a fraction, so nothing drifts by a penny after a few hundred additions.
Reports you can read
Profit and loss
Built on your categories. Export it as a CSV in one click.
Cash flow
Money in and out over a period.
Registers
Every account listed with a running balance.
Segments
Tag a shop, a fund or a project and see a profit and loss for just that part.
Close the book once you have filed
Set a closing date and anything dated on or before it cannot be posted, edited or deleted. A filed figure cannot change behind your back. Closing at 31 August closes the 31st itself, the way an accountant reads it.
Who changed what, and when
Every change is recorded: what changed, who changed it, when, and what it was before. Every entry names a person, or names system for an automatic posting. It also catches the changes that move a figure without touching an amount, such as moving a transaction to a different category.
Checked every night
A nightly audit re-checks the whole book and tells you if anything has slipped.
Ready for the UK, Ireland and the US
Start from a seeded chart of accounts for the UK, Ireland or the United States. Once you are VAT registered in the UK or Ireland, sales and purchases carry their VAT on its own line. Work in more than one currency if you need to: a rate is never guessed.
The rest of the family
EP Finance holds the book, and the other finance plugins sit on top of it. Invoicing issues quotes and invoices. Importer brings in bank statements and reconciles them. Receipts captures expense receipts. Sources posts orders and bookings automatically. Autopilot suggests categories for you to approve. Forecast shows where your cash is heading. The tax packs prepare the figures for your return in the UK, Ireland and the United States.
EP Finance prepares figures. It is not an accountant and gives no tax or accounting advice, so check your figures with your own adviser before filing anything.
